Job Description
As an Area Supervisor, your role is vital in ensuring the efficient and effective management of the warehouse team and the optimisation of product development processes. You will be responsible for the following duties:
1. Team Leadership: Lead and supervise a team of warehouse employees in your designated area, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure their proactive and efficient performance. Ensure a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork and individual growth. Ensure they work efficiently, meet daily/weekly picking goals, and maintain a high level of accuracy in all picks.
2. Efficient Item Picking: Oversee and ensure the accurate and timely picking of items within your section, adhering to safety protocols and optimising bay placement. Continuously monitor and improve picking processes to enhance productivity and minimize errors.
3. Return Checks and Quarantine Management: Thoroughly inspect all returned items for damage or wear before rehiring them. Promptly report and record any missing or damaged items and raise quarantines for unsatisfactory stock. Collaborate with stock and production teams to actively reduce quarantines.
4. Stock Maintenance and Reporting: Take an active role in maintaining the quality and condition of stock assigned to your department. Report any concerns or issues to the Warehouse Manager promptly. Assist in locating new or existing stock to facilitate efficient day-to-day picking operations and conduct audits of new props added to the current inventory.
5. Collaborative Support: Offer support to the wider warehouse picking team, cultivating a positive and proactive work culture. Optimize picking processes and ensure effective communication.
6. Health and Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and your team members.7. Work Area Upkeep: Take responsibility for the cleanliness and organization of your work area, maintaining a tidy and efficient workspace.
8. Props Organisation for Photo Shoots: Coordinate and organise props for photo shoots in collaboration with the products team, ensuring they align with the team’s long-term goals.
9. Stock Checks: Conduct regular stock checks within your area of responsibility, required at least once per year. Additional checks may be triggered by stock irregularities, such as lost items or shortages.
10. Timely Response to Sales Queries: Respond to sales queries promptly and accurately, ensuring all relevant information is communicated effectively.
11. Damaged or Lost Items Management: Take responsibility for handling damaged or lost items within your area of responsibility. Record and direct this information to the relevant sales manager to ensure appropriate actions are taken.
12. Weekly Team Catch Up: Conduct weekly team catch-ups to discuss stock issues and brainstorm solutions to address them.
13. Homing of New Props: Work with the products team to ensure the proper homing of new props, aligning with the team’s long-term goals.
