Job Description
We are looking for a person to lead and manage the IT challenges and requirements for EPH Creative. We work with a sub contracted IT company and a big part of the role is liaising with them to represent EPH and manage projects assigned to them. This will start as a one-person team, so we are looking for a strong all-rounder with a wide knowledge of IT solutions who can understand the problems, but also action the required solutions. Strong project management skills are essential as the IT department is central to the business and offers services to multiple departments.
You must have great communication skills and be able to carry out desktop support to all departments, troubleshooting issues regarding software, hardware and networking. You will be responsible for specifying equipment to meet the needs of the end-user while also considering budget and future IT plans.
You must have strong interpersonal skills and be comfortable communicating at all levels in a focused and effective manner. You must be able to handle budgets and timelines, working with multiple groups of people both internally and remotely.
Responsibilities
• Coordinates IT support, training, and orientation for new technology users
• Ensure efficient and effective technology and Internet access for a group of users
• Organise troubleshooting or repair when necessary for IT equipment, either internally or externally, with a focus on maximising the capacity of our sub contracted IT company.
• Oversee information security and maintain network and user security through hardware or software installation or through education.
• Implement an IT budget for the organisation as a whole and for specific departments on direction of department heads and the financial director.
• Track inventory and status for hardware and software throughout an organisation.
• When required, speak directly with technology vendors on behalf of purchasing to evaluate proposed equipment. Assess and purchase new and replacement hard-ware.
• Advise about organisation’s IT equipment, networking, and connectivity needs and purchase products, parts, and services as necessary.
• Works with HR to identify staffing needs and participates in the hiring process to ensure equipment is suitable and ready.
• Help develop emergency plans for equipment, power, or security failure to preserve technology and data.
• Research and stay up-to-date regarding new IT equipment and solutions
• Align IT infrastructure with current and future business requirements and goals
• Evaluating risk, developing network recovery and backup processes
• Assuring that IT activities are within the limits of applicable laws, codes and regulations
• Testing, troubleshooting, and adjusting information systems to operate effectively
• Implementing security of the network, data and its storage and communication systems
Skills/attributes required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a Related Field
• Experience with Computers and Networks, Management, Leadership, Staffing, Computers, Budgets, Strategic Planning, Problem Solving, Decision Making, Critical Thinking, Written and Verbal Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Teamwork, Attention to Detail, Working Under Pressure.
• Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
• Expertise in data centre management and data governance
• Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation.
Hours of work
Mon- Fri, flexible hours considered, some hybrid working a possibility. Minimum 24hrs over 3 days up to 40hrs over 5 days, dependent on applicant.
