Job Description

Purpose of the Job: To manage the day to day activities of the department, monitoring productivity & quality levels.

To complete art & sculpting tasks, working from a design brief/specification ensuring best practice is used to meet quality and time standards.

Carry out all work in a safe and professional manner ensuring work is carried out productively and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Complete a wide range of prop sculpting tasks, working from a design brief/
specification ensuring best practice is used to meet quality and time standards.
• Lead & drive safe working environment by continually assessing and leading department, acting as an ambassador for safety
• Assess & monitor product quality standards in department, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
• Carry out maintenance and repair tasks to the required method, quality, and time frame
• Approach your work with a positive attitude, be a team player and communicate effectively with all employees
• Hold responsibility for team targets & performance of department section
• Train, coach & develop team members in department section
• When required update work/tasks systems in a timely manner with information about progress, colours, materials used, and time taken flagging any concerns
• Carry out all work using best practice, in a safe and professional manner.
• To ensure work is carried out productively and efficiently, and meets specified brief within agreed timescales.
• Responsible for looking after and maintaining all issued tools and equipment. To assist with the maintenance and upkeep of all department tools, machines and equipment
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with your training and the correct PPE is worn
• Assist with maintaining stock levels by completing order forms when required.
• Feedback and report any prop quality concerns through the proper methods to Senior Production Supervisor
• Keep work area in a tidy and clean condition, taking responsibility for daily housekeeping of tools, materials, debris & waste
• Support the wider production team to achieve overall department goals and deadlines this may include working in other areas of the production department
• Support the wider needs of the company by being flexible with working hours including occasional travel to client event installs & derigs

Skills/attributes required

• Previous experience in sculpture & art design
• Previous experience working from drawings
• Artistic or creative qualification would be an advantage
• Knowledge & experience of working within COSHH guidelines
• Previous experience managing or leading people an advantage
• Previous experience in performance management an advantage
• Previous experience coaching & developing team members

Hours of work

8am-4.30pm Monday-Friday
