Established for over 19 years, EPH Creative is one of the UK’s leading event & theming suppliers. We work with an ever-growing & impressive range of clients from well-known TV Shows, to Visitor Attractions, Corporate Clients, Weddings and Private Parties. We supply props and theming to over 2,000 events & bespoke projects each year.
Our headquarters near Wetherby are an Aladdin’s cave of props, furniture and theming, over 145,000 sq ft. Our State of the Art Scenic Production facility is one of the largest in the UK.
As a result of company growth, we are now recruiting for an experienced and skilled Joiner to be a part of our Production Team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proficient Joiner with experience working from production design drawings.
The role includes building new props & repairing existing stock to exacting specifications. You will need to have the highest standards of quality control and a keen eye for detail carrying out thorough assessments on every piece of work you create. You should be able to take on projects and manage multiple tasks with a good level of autonomy. You will be able to work on a diverse range of projects and your joinery skills will need to be at the highest level. You will need to be able to solve problems quickly & come up with unique & creative solutions. In return you will work on exciting, fun projects and unique props! The Events industry is notoriously last minute & you will need to sometimes work to tight deadlines. You will need to be able to keep a calm head in sometimes pressured situations while keeping a clear outlook. This role may include some site visits to complete fit outs & installs, you should have a flexible approach to your schedule at certain times. We will ideally be looking for candidates to provide a portfolio of previous work or work samples.
Responsibilities
• Complete new prop builds working from design specifications ensuring best practice is followed to keep to quality & time standards
• Carry out maintenance & repair tasks to an agreed standard, method & time frame
• Keep to rigorous Health & Safety standards at all times & reporting any accidents, near misses or incidents.
• Assess prop builds & repairs, and report any quality concerns to Department Supervisor
• Take care of & maintain all issued tools & equipment, ensuring these are kept in excellent condition at all times
• Assist with maintaining stock levels by completing order forms & reporting any issues
• Work closely with other team members and liaise with multiple departments to ensure the swift completion of any tasks
• Support the wider needs of the company by flexible working &/or taking on additional duties at peak times
Skills/attributes required
• Ideally 5+ years of skilled joinery experience
• Should be able to work alone to complete tasks without supervision
• Should also have skills to work in a team to achieve common goals
• On the job problem solving
• Free thinker able to work on complex unique tasks
• Work from drawings
• Fine joinery & precision skills
• Scenic Joinery experience an advantage
• CNC experience an advantage
• Skills in working with additional materials i.e. fiberglass or metalwork an advantage
• Ability to work some overtime at peak times
Hours of work
Generally 8am-4:30pm Mon-Fri with some flexibility.

£28,000-£32,000 dependant on experience
