Are you looking for a website manager role where you can really flex your creative and analytical brain, while at the same time utilising your extremely diverse practical knowledge combined with blue-sky thinking that drives you? You work under and are supported by the Design Director who has led the website development for over 7 years. This is a starting point for a new department within the company, which means it requires you to be very hands-on with a diverse skill set to support this investment. You must have a background in managing websites with a commercial focus, decisions must be grounded around how they positively support the business, with follow-up analysis on ROI.

Our website is our main selling tool, we have a lot of ideas that make up the short and long-term goals. These combine to create the pathway that is your starting point towards an opportunity where you can flourish, consistently take on more responsibility and grow within the company. This is an opportunity to make changes and see the results. For you it’s not just about facilitating of the platform, you want to be part of all levels of the website including content creation. This very inclusive role covers all elements of the website, from the nitty gritty and smaller areas right through to the wider planning, goal-driven reporting, and budget management. Your natural empathy for users and ability to juggle complex logic buried in multi-faceted workflows helps you to create comprehensive solutions, which where possible, have completely resolved solutions. If not, you are aware of known limitations and you make it your mission to record these with the final aim of closing the loop. You’re not afraid to take on this complex project, confidently and carefully wrangling a website built previously created by necessity and then helping evolve this.

You are on that never-ending, ever-changing path to perfection; you push yourself to understand the wider complexities of the business and then combine this with suggested solutions. It might be that the desired goal is not achievable yet, but you can recognise this, and set goals and milestones for prior solutions that take us closer to that next level. You stay up to date with changes in the industry and the wider ever-evolving world of web development.
You must have excellent organisational skills and be able to take responsibility for multiple projects of varying complexity. You manage these projects, keeping track of progress, dates and deadlines while also using your great communication skills to keep all project shareholders up to date.
You have an analytical mind and a detailed understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Pay Per Click (PPC). You are expected to have meticulous attention to detail, outstanding problem-solving skills, and fantastic content creation and writing skills.

You must display an excellent understanding of content management systems (CMS) and technology infrastructures using CSS, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Web-Proxy, and Security Audits. Top candidates will be comfortable troubleshooting the website and constantly improving the User Experience (UX) of the website.
Experience with WordPress, Apache servers, and AWS (LightSail and EC2) is essential. A wider knowledge of AWS services to create inclusive web solutions is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading our website.
• Responding to and troubleshooting all website issues.
• Identifying and responding to all website security breaches.
• Ensuring that the website is protected by enabling the appropriate security measures.
• Updating HTML, CSS and JavaScript regularly.
• Conducting content audits to eliminate redundant and/or duplicate information.
• Creating appropriate website content aligned with the our overall company strategy.
• Ensuring website quality and efficiency by conducting regular test plans.
• Improving the user experience of the website regularly.
• Collaborating with all staff and management to ensure that the website aligns with our brand strategy.
• Creating strategies to grow subscriber base and web traffic metrics.
• Ensuring full compliance on the website with all laws and regulations.
• Keeping up-to-date with industry best practices and monitoring competitor websites.

Skills/attributes required

• A degree in computer science, IT, systems engineering, or related qualification.
• 3-4 years of experience as a website manager.
• Expert knowledge of Adobe suite, WordPress Content Management Systems, and W3C Web standards.
• Strong knowledge of AWS and
• Highly proficient in HTML, XHTML, CSS design, cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility, firewalls (functionality and maintenance), Access, mySQL and Javascript.
• Great understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Paid Per Click (PPC).
• Ability to troubleshoot website issues in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.
• Excellent content creation and writing skills.
• Fantastic time management skills with the ability to multi-task.

Hours of work

Part-time or Full-time 30-40hrs per week.

8/9:00am to 4/5:30pm, Mon – Fri

Commutable from Leeds, York, Harrogate (own transport required)

Remote/Hybrid Working: Where we can support employees with flexibility of remote or hybrid working, we do. In this role we would consider some Hybrid working, of up to 2-3 days per week.
